Zach Vinal is marketing an improved version of the Sani-Grip®, a toilet seat handle invented by his late father, Syracuse entrepreneur Charlie Vinal. The stainless steel handle allows users to raise and lower toilet seats without touching the potentially germ-filled seat. Vinal is marketing the Sani-Grip® to bars and restaurants, colleges and universities, and other facilities where there are public toilets. Vinal says public toilets with the Sani-Grip® will be much cleaner because men are more likely to lift the seat. Apizza Regionale co-owner and manager Paul Messina says it's been a lot easier keeping the restaurant's bathrooms clean since Sani-Grip® toilet seat handles were installed.
